Poorly functioning feet can cause pain in the feet, knees, hips and low back.  Often times people are advised to get custom orthotics to help relieve their pain.  In our experience, those who have the most success in getting rid of their pain, are those who are properly assessed to determine the true need for orthotics. Our very specific way of casting the foot for orthotics differs from most and is based on the fact that the most effective way to control the foot is to apply a force directly up under the arch-- not by adding wedges or pads to modify the foots' position. With our specific casting technique and the characteristics of the modern plastics used, we can create a custom, supportive platform for each foot that is rigid enough to achieve optimal arch support, while remaining flexible enough to allow enough flattening for shock absorption, terrain adaptation and comfort.
